last but not least....

22 °C

Vancouver, BC day 4,

I cant seem to waste enough time doing anything interesting downtown here...so I'm back. Again I'm goignt o pick Colleen up frpom work like yesterday. Last night we went and got some food at Safeway (hooray!) and i cooked us GREAT food..ofu a little on teh burnt side...but we scraped it off. Then we rented MOVES and i fianlly saw When Harry Met Sally - and it was good. Also i had to rent BIG, becasue I came across the EXACT SAME 'Zoltar' fortune telling guy in San Fransisco one day at Fisherman's Wharf like at teh begining of the movie..you know, when he wishes to be big?! -anyhoo, being the huge Tom Hanks fan i am....i will be watching THAT one soon. Tonight me and Colleen are going to the Anthropology Museum because its free tuesday nights! free is GOOD and im a huge dork...she's not QUITE as excited about the totem poles, but what can you do?
I figure as a conclusion to teh weel here i will spend alot of time just winding down and hanging at the house. This weekend we're gonna climg Grouse mountain 853 M high, 2.9 KM up hill to a good view of the city-should be fun! :)

The trip's been good all in all. Disapointing that i didnt make it to neither Portland nor Seattle, or go learn to surf or hanglide....next time perhaps. It has been a ride...al;l the horrible downs...and rare ups but VERY good.

It has also been the only trip in which I have second guessed whether I'd rather be at home or not, and I'm glad I want to be back. Having crossed the boarder, I feel halfway back already.
On to school-work!

Miss you all in Winnipeg see you very soon...and Mitch...can't wait to borrow a cup of sugar - neighbour! ;)

whaddya know?

so the long-ass entry i meant to send out ages ago...last last Sunday to be exact was saved after my 20 mins of net ran out RIGHT as i was going for teh 'publish' button!
to ass to the string of bad luck i have dropped my new watch and broken it...droped my sunglasses and broken THEM, and umm thats it reallyl
i had SO much fun being poor once i got out of the bad mood. i met alot more pople...you know, once the group you've gotten to know and REALLY began liking takes off to teh next city (which is inevitable and usdusally doesnt suprise me anymore, but did this once) i met a slew of good peeps including this dude Brian from T dot (holla!) and Alex from NY/Russia, Anya from Russia and Jess from New Zealand...good times. ate alot of pancakes, and frankly dont want to again for some while
now in Vancity its the third day and me and Colleen have gone to a theme park and rode GREAT coasters...and last night we went to a bar she promised i could go to and i rode a mechanical bull...twice! i was GOOD!- little weird when people took pictures...but hey...not too bad, at least i didnt ahev my SHIRT OFF...for a bart ab...geez people amaze me.
i have some money, conviced visa to let me have some trafer it to my account and then put my credit card back on hold. so, im good,. see you in a wee
on BTW mom and dad - i fly in at like 11pm...not the afternoon!

good times, bad times

last night was AWESOME - for awhile at least.
met all these Québec people who could barely speak any english, so i practiced ma francais all night long...we went out to a few different bars, and finally found this fucking awesome HUGE hip hop bar...packed tight full of people!!! GREAT music ....$20 cover...oops.
so short version of this is right here: we left our stuff in a pile in a corner...i go back an hour later after dancing through the crowd with a few people i met...GREAT time - my wallet has bee taken out...everything i need is gone...visa, ALL the money i have to my name (and i mean, i couldnt make a phone call had to walk home) my bank card, sin, license, etc....fucked.
sooooo, today i spent on the phne with my parents, the bank, everything tired and crying and horrid feeling -still am! and ummm...yeah.
im pretty lucky actually, have my passport and my ticket home...thats better than nothing-so you wont be hearing from me until i arrive in Vancity at Colleens place as i have no money-the girl at teh fron tdesk gave me 20mins free internet.
Im okay...a relative ive never met lives here, dad made me call her -shes cool! ,anyway...borrowed money from my parenst through her, so i can eat and possibly change the date of my flight home

I want a vacation!!!

sunny 20 °C

As I wandered the streets aimlessly for hours...then quickly located myself on a map...then continued on in a general direction i thought might be interesting -I realized something- I AM NOT A WORLD TRAVELLER RIGHT NOW. Im on a 3 weeks f-ing trip, there is no need to rush around and be so skimpy with money, i'm supposed to be refreshed and ready for school in a few weeks. So, I have altered my plans slightly.
Rather than go to Portland at all, or suffer a 20 hour train ride north, I bought a cheap cheap flight directly from SF to VanCity, and I have decided to stay here from longer...plus theni will get to Vancouver days earlier, and can make a day trip/1 nighter to Seattle!!!
Food here in rediculous. Every kind of food, every style resteraunt...and the BEST of the best! I found an amazing place today with a crazy buffet full of insane food, and dessert mmm i had a 3-milk custard cake with rum-soaked strawberries aahhh...
and I talked to this guy and his son beside me while i ate it. People here are the polar opposite of LA peeps...polite, friendly, helpful and I still love this city. I took a trolley too and followed up my night out with beer and chilling with English, Swedish and Dutch guys down in the kitchen.
Soo, im gonna spend quality time here, and damn well enjoy it. Im getting a manicure tomorrow :)

late and beautiful

listening to left & leaving in this city fits

15 °C

I have just been on a bus-train-bus combo-deal today, and just got off about an hour ago.
Im happy to say im in a cozy-warm hostel by a big window in my pjs writing this. Why so happy about that you wonder? - well, to add to my fantastic luck i have now lost my baggage a SECOND time - and i have nothing but a mini skirt for bottoms...and i dont feel too good about this one...i was on ALOT of transport today and stopped in alot of cities...we'll see. At first i was pretty flabbergasted/angry/sad..
moments later i looked up and started video taping the beautiful city i found myself in. I know already i dont want to leave in a week- which was how long a allowed based simply on how i felt id like San Fransisco.
After walking a block or two right beside/behind this guy with a guitar, he stopped, picked up red flowers that fell from a tree and gave them to me, i felt better yet.... turns out his name is Nick and he's pretty cool. He walked me all the way to my hostel. If he finds a good way to leave me a message a tthe hostel, we are going out to lunch tomorrow after i get lost here alone. I cant wait to be lost here - i wouldnt care if i was.
Plans thus far include:
-Alcatraz night tour
- trying many foods in many parts of the city
- find china town
- cross the golden gate bridge
- and finally, find the Full House house for Mitch.

I have my cameras, my PJs my toothbrush and a set of clothes way too skimpy for this city.
I love it...it's late and i dont want to sleep, its SO BEAUTIFUL.
