I want a vacation!!!

sunny 20 °C

As I wandered the streets aimlessly for hours...then quickly located myself on a map...then continued on in a general direction i thought might be interesting -I realized something- I AM NOT A WORLD TRAVELLER RIGHT NOW. Im on a 3 weeks f-ing trip, there is no need to rush around and be so skimpy with money, i'm supposed to be refreshed and ready for school in a few weeks. So, I have altered my plans slightly.
Rather than go to Portland at all, or suffer a 20 hour train ride north, I bought a cheap cheap flight directly from SF to VanCity, and I have decided to stay here from longer...plus theni will get to Vancouver days earlier, and can make a day trip/1 nighter to Seattle!!!
Food here in rediculous. Every kind of food, every style resteraunt...and the BEST of the best! I found an amazing place today with a crazy buffet full of insane food, and dessert mmm i had a 3-milk custard cake with rum-soaked strawberries aahhh...
and I talked to this guy and his son beside me while i ate it. People here are the polar opposite of LA peeps...polite, friendly, helpful and I still love this city. I took a trolley too and followed up my night out with beer and chilling with English, Swedish and Dutch guys down in the kitchen.
Soo, im gonna spend quality time here, and damn well enjoy it. Im getting a manicure tomorrow :)

late and beautiful

listening to left & leaving in this city fits

15 °C

I have just been on a bus-train-bus combo-deal today, and just got off about an hour ago.
Im happy to say im in a cozy-warm hostel by a big window in my pjs writing this. Why so happy about that you wonder? - well, to add to my fantastic luck i have now lost my baggage a SECOND time - and i have nothing but a mini skirt for bottoms...and i dont feel too good about this one...i was on ALOT of transport today and stopped in alot of cities...we'll see. At first i was pretty flabbergasted/angry/sad..
moments later i looked up and started video taping the beautiful city i found myself in. I know already i dont want to leave in a week- which was how long a allowed based simply on how i felt id like San Fransisco.
After walking a block or two right beside/behind this guy with a guitar, he stopped, picked up red flowers that fell from a tree and gave them to me, i felt better yet.... turns out his name is Nick and he's pretty cool. He walked me all the way to my hostel. If he finds a good way to leave me a message a tthe hostel, we are going out to lunch tomorrow after i get lost here alone. I cant wait to be lost here - i wouldnt care if i was.
Plans thus far include:
-Alcatraz night tour
- trying many foods in many parts of the city
- find china town
- cross the golden gate bridge
- and finally, find the Full House house for Mitch.

I have my cameras, my PJs my toothbrush and a set of clothes way too skimpy for this city.
I love it...it's late and i dont want to sleep, its SO BEAUTIFUL.

1, 2, 3 days OB-ing

sunny 25 °C

IM HEEEERE!

Despite the fact that the entire process of arrive in San Diego was retarded, everything worked out amazingly! From the get-go with "heightened security" a.k.a stupid rules that prohibit liquid past check points in the airport and on plane a.k.a stupid rules that made me very thirsty...to delayed flights, to my bags being a flight behind me... i arrived only ummm 1 hour late?
I have been so welcomed since i got here. i phoned the hostel as soon as i got in and was speaking with an all too familiar Aussie accent -my ol' buddy Kyle! i get there and was greeted by Doc, Kyle, Katie, Tenesee, Pedro and introduced to all the new staff!
Within 15 minutes i had put my bags down, had a beer in my hand and was working my first shift as a hostess! - basically i show people around the hostel when they get in..thats it.
Yesterday i did housekeeping for 4 hours which sucked, bt im back to doing the hostess thing today :)
I've made a good friend, one of my work-mates and my bunk-mate Pedro..a different one...there are two.
He is a GREAT tour guide! and SO motivating..yesterday we worked and then hopped on bikes, along with Sonni from Arizona, and with intetnions on going to Balboa Park (and i'll have to show pictures because this place is f-ing HUGE it holds at least 10 museums and the San Deigo Zoo) -we ended up on a 4 hour bike ride through old town, the park, the gaslamp quater and all along the water. It was INTENSE, with some hills we had to walk the bike up because it was impossible to ride! - The payoff was sweet thought, when we got to cruise down the hills most of the way home - Pedro went through all the stop signs and just gave 'er AALLL THE WAY DOWN!!! we barely made it home by dark, and missed the BBQ, but the views we saw were absolutely worth that and the sore ass i have now.
All in all, great first three days. I cannot believe how similar everything is to last year. I can't figure out if its cool or sad that nothing here has changed including most staff at the hostel, yet i love it still...oh well.
